Salutations! And thanks for viewing my page (please zoom in to see growth progress thus far) I have spent the past three wonderful months of my life as an intern for 826DC, and I'm very pleased to say that it has been a life-altering experience. What an unbelievable joy it is to be a part of this community, where everyone is unconditionally dedicated to young people's success. When our stellar staff isn't hard at work in our quiet office or giving tours in the Museum of Unnatural History to curious wayfarers, the center is alive with the young energy of the 826DC kids. They are wild and spunky and cute, (so if you haven't come to 826 to help these guys with their homework yet, put it on your bucket list). It has been such a privilege to work in this environment and I hope that you'll be inspired to support this cause by making any amount in a donation. It will help us raise funds for our new writing center to nurture the bright young writers of Washington, DC. It is imperative that we spread the power of literacy education wide and far!
Please make your tax-deductible contribution online. 826DC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around our understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. |
